Group First Aid Course Information

Organise a private first aid course at a time that suits your group

We offer flexible private group bookings for first aid and electrical competency training. This option is convenient if you have a group of people who would like to do a course together or if you prefer a training session held at your premises, during evenings, weekends or just a date that suits you better than our scheduled sessions. We can tailor sessions to your needs. Training sessions can be held at your premises but we also have a venue available for use in Hamilton (subject to availability). We offer private group bookings from as little as four people; however, prefer a minimum of 10 attendees.

Course types and styles

You can find information about the range of first aid courses we offer under Our Courses > First Aid Course Types.

For our Workplace First Aider, Foundation First Aid, and Revalidation First Aid course we offer three NZQA approved delivery methods: blended, traditional, and face-to-face. All have been developed to meet the time requirement for unit standard based workplace first aid training.

1. Blended style courses are made up of online learning (completed in the learner’s own time) and a short, small group practical session. The online learning covers all course theory and during the practical session learners learn and practise skills and participate in scenario based assessment.

2. Traditional style courses are made up of paper-based self-directed learning homework (completed in the learner’s own time) and a full-day or half-day (depending on course type) practical session. The homework provides some course theory and learning activities. The practical session is a combination of theory and practical learning activities and learners participate in first aid scenarios for learning and assessment. There are no written tests.

3. Face-to-face style courses are delivered completely face-to-face without any pre-learning component. These courses are very practical and theory delivery is integrated with practical learning activities in a highly engaging manner.

You can find out more about our courses styles under Our Courses > First Aid Course Styles.

Scheduling and venue

We are flexible and can generally deliver the training session on your preferred date – week days or weekends. Availability of our venue may be limited due to our publicly scheduled classes, but we generally have some availability on weekdays, weekends and evenings for private groups. If you would like us to train at your venue, please note that your venue needs to be suitable for education with sufficient seating, floor space, ventilation, and toilets. We provide more information on venue requirements during the booking process but feel free to contact us any time to find out more.

Course fees and discounts

The usual course fee is $225 for the Workplace First Aider course and $135 for the Revalidation course but we offer an affordable flat rate for groups based on group size, which can reduce the cost to as little as $80 per person. We will quote pricing options based on your training requirements based on group size, location and any special needs.
