The PTS training and assessment system for shock (3: Verification questions)
The verification questions for the scenario Provide first aid management for a person in shock in Unit Standard 6402 listed in the PTS Trainer Assessment Guide: Shock and the PTS Assessor Scenario Sheets: Shock were carefully designed to focus on the key aspects of first aid response for shock. They were designed to achieve the desired learning outcomes and compliance requirements.
It is essential that you only use these verification questions. Do not make up your own questions or modify the existing questions to cover the topic in a more complex way.
Verification questions and may be updated from time to time. If you have any suggestions for changes to questions or new questions, you can always send them to us.
We expect you to carry the laminated assessor scenario sheets, including the PTS Assessor Scenario Sheets: Shock with you during every practical session and every scenario assessment. They are a support tools for you, designed to give you all the information you need to fairly and consistently assess your learners.
For example, we don’t expect you to memorise verification questions, but we do expect you to ask the exact questions listed on your scenario sheet. If you don’t have the sheets in front of you while you are asking your learner verification question, it is almost certain that you will ask incorrect questions and therefore deviate from the carefully designed PTS assessment system.
