Deviating from the PTS system: (Deviation 1: Noise)

You have learnt about noise in the learning environment earlier. Click the button below to open the PTS Trainer Sheet on Noise. Read the sheet to refamiliarise yourself with the concept of noise in the learning environment.

PTS Trainer Sheet: Noise

Specifically for the topic of shock, noise can make it very difficult for learners to understand the connection between shock, the seriously ill person and deterioration.

Your learners will not achieve the learning outcomes and will not leave your classroom confident to provide effective first aid for shock:

  • If they are distracted in a loud environment
  • If they are not engaged because you are delivering the information in an overly technical unstructured way
  • If they are confused because you are not prepared to deliver the information clearly
