It’s about review, reflection and improvement

As explained in previous lessons, this professional development course does not explain how to use the PTS training and assessment resources from scratch. If you are unsure about any aspect of using these resources, now is the time to talk to your regional training coordinator.

Remember that you are responsible for becoming and staying familiar with all course materials and training procedures.

This part of the course is about:

  • Clearly showing you how to integrate the information from the previous parts into your practical session delivery;
  • Giving you a scheduled trigger to review all PTS trainer resources about shock;
  • Re-emphasising some key elements of the practical session delivery, including assessment; and
  • Encouraging you to reflect on your practical session delivery and identify aspects you could improve to ensure your learners leave the classroom as effective first aiders.
Important

Identifying areas for improvement does not mean what you have done before is incorrect. We encourage you to talk to your Regional Training Coordinator or the Training Manager about any reflections and ideas that you have so that you can turn them into improvements for you and your learners. As a PTS trainer we want you to have a mindset of continuous improvement and to keep looking for small things to help your learners become more effective first aiders.
