During Alert Level 2 we will be working remotely at times; you will still be able contact us and book first aid courses online. While operating under the Alert Level system we will be offering safe and compliant first aid courses with an NZQA approved delivery method of online learning + safe one-on-one practical session.
Covid-19 Safety Measures:
It's still business as usual here at Practical Training, with extra precautions to ensure Learner and staff safety at this time of uncertainty. We are following the Ministry of Health, NZ Government and NZQA guidelines regarding hygiene and encourage all Learners to do the same. Please feel free to contact us directly to discuss any concerns or to reschedule your training.
In response to concerns relating to the potential spread of COVID-19 and the logistical challenges of meeting first aid certificate revalidation due dates, we have, with support from Skills and NZQA, implemented the following two changes:
1. Learners who are not comfortable performing the breathing component of CPR on manikins can opt-out of this activity and instead describe how to perform the task. These learners will be awarded the same qualification and unit standard(s) for their first aid course.
2. Current practice is that First Aid Certificates last for two years with a grace period of 3 months. We are extending this grace period to 6 months to mitigate the effect of people being unable to attend revalidation training because of pandemic management plans.
Our timetable for training sessions for Workplace First Aid, Revalidation First Aid and CPR courses covers almost every day of the week – including Saturdays and evenings. Dates are also shown on the booking forms and the calendar below. All daytime training session start at 8:30am (arrive at 8:15am for administration) and the evening sessions start at 5:30pm (arrive at 5:15pm for administration) .
With the exception of the session marked as Evening 2, all course types can attend any training session listed. To book a first aid course go to how to book.
